Throughout my career, I’ve been a creator. A self-starter. The person who raises their hand for the thing nobody knows how to do yet — because that’s exactly when it gets interesting.
When I was Marketing Director at Timberline Lodge in Oregon, they needed a new website. I asked about the budget. They said: “You are the budget — we need YOU to make it.” Four weeks later, the site was live. That’s just how I’m wired.
So when agentic AI started becoming real — not theoretical, but actually buildable — I couldn’t walk past it. The idea of a full autonomous marketing team: one that could create content, build an audience, drive traffic, and actually deliver results? I needed to see if it worked.
I went deep over Spring Break. Read everything. Watched every video. Pulled on every thread. And then the doubt crept in. I might already be too late. There’s so much out there already. Maybe this is a fool’s errand.
Then I was on a flight home. I got up, walked to the back of the plane, and made my way back to my seat — pausing at each row, taking in what everyone around me was doing. Screens everywhere. And I saw it clearly. Nobody was researching OpenClaw. Nobody was building. Nobody was creating. They were all consuming. No judgment. Movies are great. But that was my moment. I sat back down and said to myself: I’m NOT too late.
I opened my laptop, logged into the Delta WiFi, and started building. By the time I landed — and again the next day on a flight to corporate headquarters — the foundation of Marketing Velocity existed. Chief, Tom, Arty, Quill, Proto, Eyeball — the whole team, connected and running, built at 30,000 feet.
When Chief delivered that first brief to the team, it was like flipping the breaker on a massive electrical panel — everything went from dark to fully illuminated. The hair on the back of my neck stood up, and the world, ironically, felt truly alive.
That’s where this started. What you’re reading now is the continuation of that story — a passion project, a live experiment, and a resource I’m building in public.
